Winter in Dinner Plain is first and foremost about
skiing and similar alpine activities.
Mount Hotham Alpine Resort is only 10 minutes away
and offers Australia's best powder snow, with areas
to suit everyone including downhill and cross-country
skiiers, snowboarders, hikers and those just sight-seeing.
For skiing and snowboarding beginners, Dinner Plain
village has an easy slope and platter lift, with instruction
available.
We recommend stopping at Hoys in Harrietville to hire
your chains. Their mobile service will fit Hoys chains
for free on the Hotham roadside. ASDP guests get a discount
off Hoys ski and board hire when you package accommodation
and ski hire. Hoys
have shops in Harrietville, Hotham and Dinner Plain.
Pinnacle @ DP can arrange all your needs for Hire Gear,
as well as lift and lesson tickets for beginners instruction
on the slope in Dinner Plain.

There is still plenty of other activities locally from
some of Australia's best Cross Country Skiing, right
on Dinner Plain's doorstep, to the annual Sled Dog Race,
the only race of its kind in Australia held in snow!
