There are loads of activities for
everyone from walking, mountain bike riding, horse riding,
scenic chair lift rides, fishing, enjoy them all and
take in the breathtaking views of the Victorian Alps.
From the village you can explore the new walking trails
being created by Department of Sustainability and Environment
crews, in conjunction with the Dinner Plain Landcare
Group, in the state forest areas adjacent to the village.
Or take on the challenge of walking or cycling the Mt
Hotham to Dinner Plain Ski Trail. Trail maps and information
available from our office.
Base yourself in the cool of the high
country and plan some day trips to the historic Blue
Duck Hotel north of Omeo, wineries of the Ovens Valley,
or exploring the cattlemen's huts of the high country.
By May 2009, the Bogong High Plains Road will be fully
sealed, creating a unique alpine touring loop between
early November and late May every year.
