Dinner Plain is located on the Great Alpine Road 12km east of Mount Hotham and 42km west of Omeo by fully sealed road. The Great Alpine Road running between Wangaratta and Bairnsdale is one of Australia's most scenic touring routes.

Hotham Airport, Australia's highest altitude commercial airport is only 10km from Dinner Plain. Qantaslink fly regular scheduled flights during the snow season expecting to commence early July through to mid-September subject to ski conditions and demand.

Airport transfers are available door-to-door by 4WD with Christians Bus Service from Tullamarine, Albury & Hotham airports
