About Us Accommodation Services of
Dinner Plain is owned and operated by Fiona and Lee Magnussen. Fiona
and Lee are long time residents of Dinner Plain and have a sound
knowledge of the surrounding High Country, through their travels
in the region.
Lee has a background in Mechanical Engineering, and is on hand
to assist with anything that might ‘go wrong’ in our
properties. Having a sound knowledge of the harsh environment and
what can happen to properties at times of extreme cold and wind
helps Lee to anticipate problems that may occur and take preventative
action.
Fiona has a background in Nursing Administration, and as well
as working in the office taking bookings and greeting guests, she
manages housekeeping schedules, looks after supply orders and liaises
with contractors and property owners to make sure that the properties
under management are presented in the best possible manner for our
guests.
We work closely with Dinner Plain Maintenance, who provide our
office and cleaning staff, as well as firewood provision and snow
clearing services in winter. This relationship assures us of a high
level of quality service provision. We believe in using local contractors
where possible, to undertake trade maintenance and specialist cleaning
services.
Fiona is also well know in the wider High Country region of Victoria
and New South Wales as the co founder and inaugural president of
the Victorian High Country Huts Association, as well as being the
author of a number of High Country books. Both Fiona and Lee are
active members of the Mt Hotham Dinner Plain Fire Brigade. During
the Autumn of 2010, Lee and Fiona undertook leading roles working
with the Dinner Plain community on the construction of Crisps Hut,
the replica Cattleman’s hut located to the east of the main
entrance to the village, near the children’s playground.
